Rabbits and Fences (Part 2)

Share |

What do you do if the rabbit (you are trying to keep out of your garden) is living inside your garden? The answer seems quite simple, but this is the problem we are living with in cyber security.

The rabbit in the cyber community is a coding error "living" within the internal software of our systems.

There are over 1 million words in the English language, yet they all come from just 26 letters. And the same is true with cyber security--98% of all coding problems come from less than 25 coding errors. Eliminate the coding errors within source code and you eliminate the problem.

Many companies argue that source code is proprietary and should not be shown to outside sources. I agree with them. But, there are technologies which let you correct coding errors without looking at source code.
