Future Federal Procurements

Share |

The multi-billion dollar USAF air refuleing tanker competition means:

1. Bigger is not always better. Exceeding requirements doesn't always win government contracts.

2. The 80% solution is better than the 100% solution. The extra cost of the additional 20% is sometimes too much to afford.

3. Total Cost Of Ownership matters. Life cycle costs of a system are important to agency budgets.

4. The less you change the existing infrastructure, the better your solution is.

Businesses should remember these 4 points when they are competing for future federal procurements.
