The Federal Government has 6 months to spend a 12 month budget.

While the delay of the FY11 budget was bad for business in the beginning of 2011, it is now producing a "windfall" for the remaining year. All of the projects planned for the entire 12-month period of 2011 have to be awarded before the end of the fiscal year, or the funding is lost.

Organizations have to be ready. Contracts will be awarded and task orders will issued. 12 months worth of work will be done in the next 6 months!
