Federal Purchases Will Exceed $1.2 Trillion In The Fourth Quarter Of 2011

The race to exhaust funds and execute programs will be intense in 2012. Agencies will be motivated to spend their money before it gets taken away.

On the topic of federal purchases, the federal government just received its full funding for FY12 and that will mean accelerated purchasing activity at federal agencies because there are only 7 months to execute a 12-month budget. This means plenty of selling opportunities for government marketers.

Despite what you hear...spending is up. Total government purchases of goods and services in the U.S. will reach $3.06 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2011 versus $3.03 trillion in 2010, according to St. Louis-based consultants Macroeconomic Advisers.
