Executive Vice President
Barbara is an Executive Vice President at Cassidy and Associates with over 40 years of combined experience working in the federal government and in federal government relations. She effectively leverages her experience to solve problems and identify creative opportunities for clients in a wide range of policy areas that include appropriations, tax, health care, education, research and development funding, defense, science and technology, and economic development.
For more than 30 years, Barbara has advised corporate C-suite executives, higher education leaders, hospital executives, municipalities, and leaders of non-profit organizations and associations on the implications of federal legislation and related regulatory policy. She is a firm believer that to be an effective federal government relations advisor, one must fully understand the intersection of policy and politics as it relates to a client’s challenges or strategic planning goals.
Barbara’s accomplishments are grounded in the kind of first-hand experience that comes only from working at the highest level of Congress where she served on the Leadership Staff of former Speaker of the House, Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill, Jr. This experience provided her with the skillset to navigate effectively for her clients before the Congress, the White House, and the executive branch agencies in a bipartisan manner.
A lifelong Red Sox fan, Barbara is a native of Boston and received her B.A. from Trinity College in Washington, DC.
