Senior Vice President
James Sauls is a Senior Vice President at Cassidy & Associates, bringing over two decades of experience across Congress, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community. He most recently served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), where he managed all legislative, policy, and communications operations for the office representing 39 million Californians.
Previously, James spent six years as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. In that role, he served as the staff lead for Military Intelligence, U.S. Special Operations, CIA, all things maritime, and various key geopolitical issues. His portfolio included reviewing Department of Defense and CIA programs, conducting oversight of sensitive activities, and serving as the committee designee for Senator Feinstein.
James began his career with eleven years of active-duty service as a Naval Intelligence Officer. His assignments included serving at CIA Headquarters as a representative of U.S. Special Operations Command; supporting the Department of the Navy staff at the Pentagon where he served as briefer for the Secretary of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operations; and deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan as the Intelligence Officer for a Navy SEAL Team.
A 2005 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, James continues to serve as a Naval Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
